Rulings Restrict Clean Water Act, Hampering E.P.A.

DrinkingPollutedWater

Thousands of the nation’s largest water polluters are outside the Clean Water Act’s reach because the Supreme Court has left uncertain which waterways are protected by that law, according to interviews with regulators.

As a result, some businesses are declaring that the law no longer applies to them. And pollution rates are rising.

Companies that have spilled oil, carcinogens and dangerous bacteria into lakes, rivers and other waters are not being prosecuted, according to Environmental Protection Agency regulators working on those cases, who estimate that more than 1,500 major pollution investigations have been discontinued or shelved in the last four years.

Rulings Restrict Clean Water Act, Hampering E.P.A.

Watch out America it looks like our water will stay polluted. No one is willing to really do anything about it. This isn’t unimportant water we are talking about either, we are talking about our drinking water. Companies have been dumping waste in the water. The scary thing is that people know this and are refusing to do anything about it. The E.P.A. is clearly not doing anything anymore. In fact their excuse is that it takes to much  time to check out these ponds where factories are dumping their chemicals. New York's drinking water is effected as well. All the places where they get their drinking water from has been contaminated. My advice to people that really care what they put into their bodies would be boil the water. By boiling the water you can kill all diseases and  clean the water. It would be sterilized for people to drink. You can not trust the EPA to keep you safe it is now up to you to take the steps. If a company is polluting the water, near you try to protest or get the companies attention. Write to the governors. Get their attention, besides they are suppose  to stand up for your rights. Isn’t drinking clean water a human right?
